Acidity : The rest of India says if you do not have acidity you are not a Bengali. As rosogolla is to Bengal acidity is to Bengalis. Dt. Reshmi Roy Chowdhury treats all her clients with utmost pride to get rid of this unwelcome symptom of digestive problems.

Digestive disorders mainly involve irritations or inflammation of the various sections of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract of a human body. Common digestive problems include heartburn due to acidity or gastritis (stomach), IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), IBD (Irritable Bowel Disease), Colitis(colon), Ileitis (ileum or small intestines), Hepatitis (liver), and Cholecystitis(gallbladder). These are a source of irritation and discomfort in ones’ life leading to limited lifestyle and frequent missing in workplace. Aging also causes many people to experience problems with digestion. For some, the disorders may be extremely fatal.

Digestive disorders occur because of poor or wrong eating habits like inadequate chewing and eating on the run. This result in inadequate enzyme production and hence malabsorption of food and a general decline in digestive enzyme secretion in the GI tract. Indigestion is a major cause of IBS and IBD.

Digestive disorders are not curable but can usually be fixed with proper dietary control, intake of right food and lifestyle changes.

Acidity, also known as acid dyspepsia, is a disease caused by wrong food habits or dietary errors. Acidity occurs when the hydrochloric acid (required for digestion of food) produced in the stomach becomes excess and lies in the stomach and starts its counter productive and destructive works in the system. Indiscriminate eating of oily or salty food, sweet, sour and spicy food can also cause indigestion and acidity. Acidity often causes stomach ulcers and even progress to cancer stage.
